Yorkshire Baking Club features on BBC’s Countryfile Diaries

We are proud to announce that Jacqui, owner of the Yorkshire Baking Club, was featured on Countryfile Diaries on Tuesday 29th May 2018. The filming took place on 30th April at Worsborough Mill, a local Yorkshire flour mill with a rich history. The Countryfile Diaries were producing short films about local businesses involved in farming, milling and traditional production. The mill was the perfect setting for this, as they have been an operational water-powered flour mill since the 17th century! We use their flours at the Baking Club, to keep the artisan qualities in our breads.

As the master baker at the mill, Jacqui was discussing why people should be doing more home baking, what current trends are in bread-baking and why these trends have become popular, amongst other topics. Sourdough bread and traditional baking and recipes featured, due to their currently popularity. This focus on traditional, home-style baking is one of our core values at the Yorkshire Baking Club. We truly believe in the love and skill of baking by hand.

On the show there were demonstrations, products to taste and a fantastic look-in on local flour milling and production. We learned all about natural grains and milling, and how that can give you the best tasting bread imaginable.
